Dr. Joskow has worked on a wide variety of matters involving, antitrust, competition policy, and regulation. He has provided consulting expertise on antitrust and regulation in a wide variety of sectors including telecommunications, securities markets, electric power, and aviation. Dr. Joskow has appeared before the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and the Federal Maritime Commission on both merger and nonmerger antitrust matters, as well as regulatory matters. Dr. Joskow was a member of the Joint DOJ and FTC Task Force on Efficiencies that redrafted the efficiencies section of the 1992 DOJ and FTC Horizontal Merger Guidelines. He also worked as an advisor to the Organization for Economic on Cooperation and Development on airline competition issues. He has been published on airline competition policy in journals, including the Journal of Industrial Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, and Review of Industrial Organization. Dr. Joskow is a former Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Economics at the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice. He was also a Senior Staff Economist on the President’s Council of Economic Advisers and was Chief of the Economic Regulatory Section in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
