Steven Schwartz
Senior Vice President
Dr. Schwartz specializes in antitrust, damage estimation, intellectual property, and valuation matters. He has directed and performed numerous antitrust analyses in connection with private antitrust litigation under state and Federal statutes. He has also testified as an expert witness on both antitrust liability and antitrust damage issues in a number of US District Courts, arbitration tribunals, and before the International Trade Commission. In addition, Dr. Schwartz has testified as an expert in commercial disputes involving the estimate of damages in commercial disputes and patent infringement matters.

Prior to joining NERA, Dr. Schwartz served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Miami University in Ohio. He has also worked as an antitrust economist in the Bureau of Economics at the US Federal Trade Commission.

Dr. Schwartz has published papers concerning mergers, damages estimation in antitrust cases, the persistence of monopoly profits, arbitrator bias, and the relationship between transfer prices and patent infringement royalty damages in economics journals and intellectual property journals. He has also co-authored papers for the Practicising Law Institute and made presentations at seminars sponsored by Law Seminars International.
